Coaches Rykea, Frieda, Jim & ? (front)
Kids: Briana, Gianna, Lea & Zach - all the other kids ran to show their parents their popsicles.
The best part of the night for me was when Frieda said - "There's Gianna - the girl that always had great new hairstyles." And then it was over. I was tickled inside especially coming from an African woman.

"Katie"!
I just wanted to say thank you for your sweet comment....I had to come check out your family and you guys are absolutely adorable!!
I can only imagine how hard it is to be a single mom, but sweet friend, I am confident that the God who created the universe and says that He is the "father to the fatherless" will be completely faithful!!
As for the book you read....I'm sure the gentleman who wrote it means well, but really, he must not be reading the same Bible as me...sadly he is influencing all singles (and marrieds who judge singles who want to adopt - arggh)who read his book...and I have to say I whole-heartedly disagree with him...
You know Dw and I often say, "If we mess up on obeying your will Lord - would you please, please, please judge our hearts?"
Seems to me that its only the heart that matters...and so like for instance...when Dw and I felt we were supposed to go plant a church in VA...and as we were doing it we prayed the "we believe this is what you want, but if we are wrong, will you bless it cause we only want to please you"...and you know, He totally blessed it...and tons of people came to Christ...etc..
DO you know what I mean? =)
Anyway, this has turned into a novel...sorry...Keep lovin' your babies...and know that you have a cheerleader cheering for you & your kids right here in Colorado!! You rock!!!
Love, Linny xo
Thank you so much for your kind words - especially those related to asking for a heart analysis even when we make the wrong choices. That's a good one.
I'm not sure if you've seen this but here are some related videos (Christian ministry of adoption):

I think the church congregations need to step up and focus on real religion (orphans and widows). Single, married, divorced or widowed - all can adoption/care for orphans.
Thanks again. I'll be watching your blog.
